The Director

Brenda Sweeney (Director):  Brenda has been an actress for 30 years playing roles such as Luisa in The Fantasticks, Eliza in My Fair Lady, Marian in Music Man and a one-woman show about Edith Piaf. She has performed at the Westgate Dinner Theatre, Croswell Opera House, The Rep and here at The Village last spring in The Female Odd Couple. Her hobbies are building dollhouses, reading, long walks and traveling. She teaches speech, English and drama at Waite High School. Brenda has two grown sons and a very understanding husband. She is also studying to be a docent at the Toledo Art Museum. She has had a ball directing Angry Housewives!

The Cast

Joe Burke (Tim): Joe is making his first appearance with The Village. A junior at Southview High School, he as played Lord Fancourt in Charlie's Aunt, Dr. Sanderson in Harvey, Tully Boscom in The Mouse that Roared and the Wizard in Once Upon a Mattress. Joe enjoys performing Magic and stand-up comedy. You can catch his magic act at the Outback Steakhouse every Saturday night. He plans to attend college after high school, majoring in theatre and film.

Michael Leonard (Wallace): Michael is not new to the stage, but has been "missing in action" for the past 14 years. He has been involved behind the scenes at the Village helping paint and work on sets, but now it is great to have him finally on stage. Michael is an original member of T.O.D.A.Y. Productions, in which he played Reuben in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Collingwood Art Center. During the day Michael is a Training & Development Specialist at Owens Corning, having recently graduated with his Masters of Organization Development from BGSU. He would like to extend a big "Thank You" to the cast and crew for making his return to the stage a wonderful experience and a special "Thanks" to Matthew and Elaine for bringing him back "into the light".

Marisol Mejia-Sands (Wendi): Marisol has played Nurse in Equus, Helga in Kinderstransport, and Mrs. Anderson in A Little Night Music, all at the UT Theatre. Elsewhere, she has also played Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls. Her hobbies are car modification, auto crossing and street racing. Marisol is a student at UT and will be graduating in December with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Marisol and her husband will be celebrating their one-year anniversary during this show's run. She would like to thank her husband, William, for all his love and support.

Sara M. Ledzianowski (Wendi): Sara has been performing around the Toledo area at various community theatres for many years, including an appearance here at The Village Players as the Balloon Girls in a production of Gypsy.  Some of her favorite roles include Zebulun's Wife in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sonja/Robin in Godspell, Pam in Baby, and Lucy in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown.  In her "spare time" Sara is a math teacher at Jefferson Junior High School.  She is very glad to be joining such a talented cast.  "Saint Genesius, pray for us!"

Jennifer Nagy (Jetta): Jennifer is delighted to debut at the Village with Angry Housewives. She recently returned to the Toledo area after a 10-year absence. While living in Boston and New York City she performed in Street Scene, Nunsence, Nunsence II, The Second Coming, and the world premiere of Jack the Ripper: The White Chapel Musical. In NYC Jennifer was a member of the comedy troupe STOMA and premiered her cabaret show FOR MEN ONLY. She's thrilled to be home and thankful for the wonderful support of her family and friends.

Matt Richardson (Lewd Fingers): Matt has played Kevin Chesire in Lights, Camera, Kansas, Conrad Birdie in Bye, Bye Birdie and Napthali/Baker in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, all at The Waterville Playshop. He has also played Father Virgil Manly Trot in Nuncrackers and Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof for the Maumee Valley Civic Theatre, and Fred in Oklahoma for Bowling Green Community Theatre. Matt has been cast as the King in The King & I for BGSU Community Theatre this summer.

Marcia Weisenburger (Bev):   Bev has finally gotten involved in theatre after ten years of her husband repeatedly telling her that she belongs in the theatre. She sang back-up vocals with "The Lake Erie Sea Creatures". Marcia works as a Data Systems Coordinator at the Medical College of Ohio. She would like to thank her family for all their love and support.

Matt Wiederhold (Larry): Matt has been seen as Chico in A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine and Andy in Greetings at the Village and has directed 1940's Radio Hour and Cabaret for the Village. He has also acted with the Bedford Community Theatre, Ohio Theatre and Rivers End Players. His hobbies are creating stained glass and restoring his home in the Old West End. Matt is also active in community development/revitalization and collects antiques and Toledo memorabilia. He is presently employed as a Provider Relations Specialist for the Mercy Health System PHO.

Elaine Wood (Carol):  After many small gigs, one being any and all Loss Realty Group's company functions, Elaine has decided to return to the stage. Anyone who knows her will testify to her exuberant outbursts in song at any given moment. Her energy & enthusiasm shine through in the character of Carol. Elaine is anticipating this to be the beginning of her adult career in the theatre
