The Cast

Patricia Rudes (Abby Brewster):  Pat has been involved in acting for many years.  She has appeared on the Village Players stage in Octette Bridge Club, Trip to Bountiful, ...And a Nightingale Sang and A Delicate Balance.  Some of her favorite roles were in On Golden Pond, Death of a Salesman, Little Foxes, Lost in Yonkers, Lilies of the Field, Barefoot in the Park and Steel Magnolias.  She teaches piano and likes to read, collect books, old magazines and old calendars.  Pat has been a member of the acting company at Huron Playhouse, the oldest summer theatre in Ohio.  She has directed plays and taught acting for many years.  Her husband of 49 years is Jim Rudes, another actor in community theatres in our area.

Lynnie Heinemann (Martha Brewster):  Lynnie's first show since high school was Crimes of the Heart at UT.  Since then, she's done a variety of shows at the Genoa Civic Theatre.  Last year she did Funny Money at The Rep and The Female Odd Couple at the Village Players.  Lynnie works as a Recreational Therapist/Body Recall Instructor at St. Luke's Hospital.  She would like to thank her sister Sharon and niece Kristen for their support and understanding when she accepted this role.

Charles Boos (Mortimer Brewster):  Charles is beginning his career on the stage as an actor at The Village Players Theater, although he is familiar with being onstage.  For seven years he traveled in a band in the U.S. and other countries and has worked on a cruise ship.  His hobbies are music, computers and photography.  He works in the construction business.

Jennifer Gajewicz (Elaine Harper):  Jennifer has been involved in the Black Swamp Players as a stage manager (Bus Stop, Greater Tuna, An Inspector Calls) and on stage (Hound of the Baskervilles, An Inspector Calls). She graduated from UT and works as a paralegal for Student Legal Services at BGSU.  She lives in BG with her husband, Chris, and enjoys gardening, hiking, biking and camping.  She is a member of the Black Swamp Herb Society and Bowling Green Jaycees.

Loren Shearer (Jonathan Brewster):  Loren's extensive acting and directing experience in Akron, Fremont, Canton, Dayton, as well as Toledo, spans several decades and includes, most recently, Scrooge and Marley in A Christmas Carol.  Loren is now retired from his "semi-retirement" of teaching communication courses at Owens and Monroe Community Colleges.  Now that he is really retired, he will have more time for his hobbies of fishing , hunting, lapidary crafts and golfing.

Steve Horowitz (Dr. Einstein):  Steve has appeared with the Waterville Playshop in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Annie, BGSU Summer Theatre in Guys and Dolls, Black Swamp Players in Hound of the Baskervilles and Dearborn Theatre Guild in Mixed Doubles, Nightwatch and Once Upon a Mattress.  He is an associate professor of Health Promotion at BGSU.  As hobbies, Steve likes to do calligraphy, bake (sugar-free), sing with Undivided Sound (gospel singing group) and collects teapots that don't look like teapots.

Tom Wagner (Teddy Brewster):  Tom has been involved in theatre since high school.  In the past, Tom was involved in theatres in Portland Oregon, at Pacific Lutheran and Lakewood, Washington.  More recently he has been seen in plays at The Rep (Christmas Carol, Heidi), Sylvania Historical Village Production (Just Around the Bend) and the Black Swamp Players (Something to Hide and Hound of the Baskervilles).  His hobbies are reading, music, fishing and sports.  Tom is married to Terri and the father of Adam and Mary.  He is owner of Promotions Resources Co.

Dale Moore (Director/Rev. Dr. Harper):  Dale began his association with community theatre while still a student at Waite High School.  In the intervening years he has served as a Board member with many theatres in Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.  He has performed in several shows including You Can't Take it with You.  He has directed shows at The Black Box in Kentucky and Sauk Theatre in Michigan.  Dale joined The Village Players a year ago and has worked on set design and construction.  Arsenic and Old Lace is his first time to direct a show with this theatre.  He is now Vice President of Development for The Village Players Board.

John Henry (Mr. Gibbs):  John has been involved in theatre for the last 35 years.  He was last seen on stage in Painting Churches, but is involved in many backstage activities such as props, building sets and directing.  Last year, he co-directed Pvt. Wars, which was taken to regional and state competition and won an Excellence and Outstanding in Acting and Excellence in directing at the regional level.  He also directed this season's production of Mixed Emotions.

Ellex King (Officer O'Hara):  Ellex was in The Trip to Bountiful at The Village Players.  He has appeared in a commercial ad for Buckeye CableVision.  Someday he hopes to be in a movie or television show.  He presently works at Unisys Corp. in Holland, Ohio.  In his free time he likes to act and travel.  He is a member of the American Coaster Enthusiasts and enjoys riding roller coasters in his spare time.  He recently appeared on the Discovery Channel in a Documentary on the Millennium Force at Cedar Point.

Jon Guernsey (Officer Klein):  Jon was involved as a stage manager and props person at Rossford High School in Oklahoma and played Brad and the criminologist in The Rocky Horror Picture Show in  Bowling Green at the Clazel Theatre.  Jon is busy studying Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.  In his free time he likes to do role playing games, read, programming and likes to learn and do everything.

Amy Lamana (Officer Brophy):  Amy was recently seen at the University of Toledo in For Whom the Bell Tolls (a spoof of The Glass Menagerie).  She is a graduate student at UT in counseling and volunteers at the Y.M.C.A. Battered Women's Shelter.  Amy enjoys meeting new people, traveling, camping, astrology, music, history, yoga and taking walks at the metroparks (especially during the fall, her favorite season).

Tom Kleinert (Lieutenant Rooney):  You may remember Tom from his last role as Ralph in Mixed Emotions.  He has also appeared in Laughter on the 23rd Floor at The Village Players and other productions at The Rep, University of Toledo, Gramma Rose's, Harold's Pilgrims, Muse Machine and is currently a member of the Around the Bend Players.  During the last year he was involved in making two movies:  In the Company of Strangers and BackWater.

Joel Ungerleider (Mr. Witherspoon):  Joel has been involved in local community theatre for over 50 years.  That works out to more than 68 plays.  He was last seen at The Village Players in Laughter on the 23rd Floor.  His hobbies are magic, golf, computers, books and collecting Royal Doulton character jugs.  He wishes to thank his wife for her understanding over the years.
