Cherchez Dave Robicheaux

The Director

Nancy Wright (Playwright, Director) began as an actor; today she is a proud member of both the Dramatists Guild and the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators. Under pseudonyms she writes fiction for teens and adults. Her next challenge is nonfiction-a memoir about living in two places at the same time (sort of). To date Nancy has written more than 20 plays; most have been staged. Cherchez Dave Robicheaux won the Sonoma County Rep's New Play Award and had its Equity premiere at Ann Arbor's Performance Network. It was also produced in Chicago and Cleveland. Nancy and her husband Wayne Fager will soon leave this latitude, not for Louisiana but for other blue skies and new pages. She thanks her friends for their laughter and loyalty. If she were Cajun, she'd add, "Laissez les bons temps roulez!"

The Cast

Carolina Burdo (Nola) is a recent graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. Favorite roles include Diana in A Chorus Line, Corie in Barefoot In The Park, Mary in Vanities, and Heidi in The Heidi Chronicles. Recently she has also appeared in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, The Who's Tommy, and West Side Story. Carolina is honored to make her Village Players debut among such talented people. Next she will join the National Tour of Grease as Cha-Cha. Carolina thanks God for granting her the passion to follow her dream, and her amazing family for their unconditional love and support.

Ben Lumbrezer (Lou, Dee) is no stranger to the Village. Most recently he played Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing and George in Of Mice and Men. Over the past eight years he has also performed in Six Degrees of Separation, 1940's Radio Hour, Abandoned Houses, White Liars/Black Comedy, Conversations With My Father, Moon Over Buffalo, Last Night of Ballyhoo, and many more that he can't recall or has blocked out. He is a past Vice-President of Production and at-large member of our Board of Directors. In his spare time he enjoys backpacking, canoeing, camping and other outdoor activities.

Thereasa Rinderknecht (Indy, Britteney) made her Village Players debut this year as the sultry maid Petra in A Little Night Music. Thereasa recently returned to Toledo from San Francisco, where she worked with the Lamplighters Musical Theatre Co., making appearances as Pitti-Sing in The Mikado and Sister Mary Manichewitz in Sacre Bleu! as well as performing in the Sausalito Opera Festival. Thereasa would like to thank Mom for being her biggest fan, and Ben for memories made and love renewed on a daily basis.

Zac Gilley (Bob) returns to the stage following his debut as Borachio in Much Ado About Nothing, also here at the Village. He wishes to dedicate this performance to his parents Jerry and Sharon for telling him he could do it, his fiancée Cindi for convincing him he could do it, and BL and DNH for making him do it.

Carol Ann Erford (Picket Pie) was last seen at the Village as the wife in Conversations With My Father. She recently concluded What I Did Last Summer at Ms. Rose's Dinner Theatre playing Anna Trumbull the Pig Woman. A long career in the Toledo area has allowed Carol Ann to take on many fine roles, including these personal favorites: Ruth the Pirate Maid in several productions of The Pirates of Penzance; Aunt Eller in Oklahoma at both the Westgate Dinner Theatre and Ms. Rose's; the mother in Broadway Bound at the Village; and Golde in Fiddler on the Roof at the Village and Westgate. She looks forward to many more.

Julie Meehan (Esprit de Vie Dancer) is a freshman at the Toledo School for the Arts downtown. She aspires to become a professional dancer, a goal she has been working toward since taking her first dance class twelve years ago. Today Julie studies tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and Afro-Caribbean. She also plays the harp and flute. Her favorite dance instructors are Talina Tolson-Smith and Bridget Kennedy. Julie thanks her mom Pat Meehan for making it all possible.
