The Love List

The Director

Carol Ann Erford (Director) had such a good time last year directing The Underpants that she is at it again. She was last seen in The Secret Garden as Mrs. Medlock at The Toledo Rep, last season. It seems she is dividing her time, now, between acting and directing. With over 40 years of acting and now directing in the area theatres she is quite busy. She last was onstage here at The Village in Don’t Hug Me and shared the stage with Sara Speelman, who appears in this play as the mysterious woman. She also directed Leading Ladies at The Rep in which Lane Hakel appeared. Joe Capuccini appeared in The Underpants. So she has rounded up a great cast for your entertainment. Carol Ann and The Village hope you have fun and enjoy The Love List.

The Cast

Lane Hakel (Bill) is excited to be making his The Village Players Theater debut. Lane is a frequent performer on area stages. His most recent roles were in Findlay Light Opera’s production of Mame and with the Black Swamp Players as Tito Merelli in Lend Me a Tenor. With the Toledo Rep, Lane recently portrayed Charlie in The Foreigner and as Jack/Stephanie in Leading Ladies. Other favorite shows include The Crucible, Pass the Butler, Moon Over Buffalo, The Complete History of America (abridged), Fat Pig, Romance, An Adult Evening with Shel Silverstein, Blackbird, The Odd Couple, Big, The Mousetrap, The Witness for the Prosecution, and 1776. Lane is an English Teacher at Bowling Green Middle School.
Joe Capucini (Leon) A native of Fremont and a proud graduate of the University of Toledo’s Theatre Department, Joe was previously seen on the Village stage as Theo in The Underpants (2010) and Lee in The Melville Boys (2009). Joe’s UT credits include; Mr. Applegate in Damn Yankees, Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing, Soldier in Antigone and many others. Joe is also an alumni of the Huron Playhouse (1988). He dedicates his performance to Mom, Trina, McKinsey and Lee. Thank you for so many years of love and support.
Sara Speelman (Justine) is finally making her return to The Village stage and is thrilled to be back with such a great cast. Previous shows here at The Village include Don’t Hug Me, Let’s Murder Marsha, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. She was last seen on stage at The Rep in the production of Leading Ladies. She recently directed the Teen Rep’s productions of Godspell and Barnum. Sara will be celebrating her one year anniversary of marriage by making her husband run the lights for this show. She would like to thank Carol Ann, Lane, and Joe for the wonderful time she has had in this production!
