The Director

Norb Mills (Director) has been with The Village Players for 27 years and is an OCTA award winning actor and director. During his years with The Village, he has acted, directed, produced, stage managed, built sets, worked sounds and lights and served twice as Board President. Basically, if you name it, he has probably done it. Norb expresses his deep appreciation to his talented cast, his able assistant John Henry, and everyone involved with the production. He is especially thankful to YOU, OUR LOYAL AUDIENCE, and hopes you enjoy a meaningful experience with The Melville Boys.

The Cast

Joe Capucini (Lee) was very active in Toledo theatre a long time ago. He is a proud graduate of UT’s theatre department and is also an alumnus of the Huron Playhouse. Some of his UT roles include Mr. Applegate in Damn Yankees, Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing, Grumio in Taming of the Shrew, Peter Quince in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and a soldier in Antigone. Joe last performed at The Village Players as Stan in Broadway Bound. “It’s good to be back, especially with this show and this cast.” He sends his love and thanks to his wife Deanna for her support and understanding.
D. Nicholas Hansen (Owen) has been involved in Toledo theatre for several years. He last appeared at The Village Players in The Real Inspector Hound. He has also been seen in Wrong For Each Other, Wally’s Café, Pvt. Wars, and Greetings, as well as Murder By Misadventure at the Toledo Rep and Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Valentine Theatre. Derek has directed numerous shows around the Toledo area, including The Spitfire Grill (Toledo Rep), Mrs. Bob Cractchit’s Wild Christmas Binge (former Harvest Theatre), and Much Ado About Nothing (The Village Players). His numerous accomplishments include receiving three acting awards from the Ohio Community Theater Association and a BA in Theatre from The University of Toledo. When not involved in theater, Derek spends his time writing and producing a weekly podcast and watching copious amounts of hockey. He would like to thank his wife Laura for her love and support (and allowing him to watch copious amounts of hockey).
Elizabeth Palmer (Mary) is thrilled to be on The Village stage again, having last been seen in Don’t Dress for Dinner. Her Village credits include Janet in Wally’s Café, and Corie in Barefoot in the Park. Elizabeth has been involved in local commercials, voice-overs (Toledo’s CW), independent films, and theatrical productions. She was most recently seen in Rent at The Croswell Opera House. By day, Elizabeth works as a clinical therapist, working with at-risk children and teens using art in therapy. By night, she’s an acting enthusiast. “Thank you to Norb, John, cast, family and Seth for the support. Special ‘thanks’ to the audience for keeping theatre alive!”
Clara Engel (Loretta) loves acting and has appeared in several community theatre productions, including The Village Players’ productions of Don’t Dress for Dinner, Out of Sight, Out of Murder, Office Hours — where she had the honor and fun of sharing the stage with her father — and Squabbles, and The Reps’ productions of The Crucible and Harvey. When she’s not on stage, Clara is a Creative Consultant for BusinessVoice and a Freelance Journalist for The Toledo City Paper, Toledo Area Parent, and other local publications. She also enjoys yoga, running, reading, and spending time with family and friends. “Thanks to my family for once again puttin’ eyes on stage for this production!”
