John Henry: John is another veteran of the Village stage having been with the Village for 36 years! John got the bug to direct last year when he took on Pvt. Wars with Norb Mills. For that effort, he was awarded "Outstanding Director" from the Regional Ohio Community Theatre Association. Most recently he appeared as Garder Church in Painting Churches. Past productions include Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild, Black Comedy, Marvin's Room, That Championship Season, On Golden Pond, and The Gin Game. He has involved himself off stage as well, performing countless tasks in whatever needs to be done.
Jean Mills (Christine Millman): Regional and State Ohio Community Theatre Association (OCTA) award-winning actress, Jean has been involved with The Village Players since 1981 on stage, behind the scenes and on the Board of Directors. She started acting in grade school in Oak Park, IL and has performed in her high school and collegiate productions as well as in community theatres in Minnesota and Ohio. Jean met her future husband, Norb, in a play during college and they have acted together for over 40 years! Jean says one of the best things about being on stage is giving the audience a 2-hour release from daily problems. Jean has appeared in many shows at The Village, including; Female Odd Couple, 70, Girls, 70, The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild, Cabaret, Last Night of Ballyhoo, Moon Over Buffalo and Sylvia, just to name a few.
Norb Mills (Herman Lewis): Norb is a veteran performer and has been a "Village Player" for many years. Favorite productions include 70, Girls, 70, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Cabaret, Inherit the Wind, Black Comedy, and Company. While not dancing in the hallways of Versailles with Jean, Norb is a professor at the University of Toledo, and is said to swing a mean golf club on the courses. Norb has also served as a past-president and board member of The Village. In the course of his acting career, Norb has garnered 2 OCTA Acting awards! Most recently, however, Norb Co-Directed last year's Pvt. Wars and was awarded "Outstanding Director" from the Regional Ohio Community Theatre Association.
Thomas D. Kleinert (Ralph): You may remember Tom from last year's Laughter on the 23rd Floor, but since then he's been quite busy making two movies; In the Company of Strangers and BackWater. He has also signed on for a 3-year term on The Village's Board of Directors. Tom is no stranger to Toledo theatre, having appeared in numerous productions from the Rep to the University of Toledo. Professionally Tom has performed at Gramma Rose’s, with Harold’s Pilgrims, Muse Machine, and the Rep’s "Young Playgoers". Tom is also a member of the Around the Bend Players, an improv comedy troupe.
D. Nicholas Hansen (Chuck): Derek was last seen on The Village stage in last season's Pvt. Wars as the psychotic Silvio, for which he won an award for "Excellence in Acting" at regional OCTA competition in June. He has also been seen in Cabaret and Greetings!, at The Village, An Evening with Christopher Durang at the University of Toledo, and as Theseus in Midsummer Night's Dream at the Valentine. Derek not only keeps busy on-stage, but off stage also. In June he was elected to a 3-year stint on The Village's Board of Directors, and he also Assistant Directed the movie In the Company of Strangers. When not around the theatre or camera, Derek pursues a B.F.A. in Theatre and B.A. in History at The University of Toledo.
