Marc Malley (Director) This is Marc’s second round as Director having last directed The Best Man. Marc keeps busy with his dog Molly, teaching at Bedford High School, and working as a “techie” up in the sound booth here at The Village.
Paul Palmisano (Felix Ducotel) first appeared here as
Ex-President, Art Hockstader in The Best Man
and assisted in the direction of
A Year With Frog and Toad.
He also serves on the board of directors. A few of his favorite roles include
Fiorello LaGuardia in Fiorello, John Adams in 1776, Willy Loman in
Death of a Salesman, and Iago in Othello. He has directed Music
Man, South Pacific, The King and I, Kismet, How to
Succeed in Business… and The Most Happy Fella. He worked with Rod
Serling, then a writer at WLW-TV in Cincinnati, and starred in a PBS Children’s
Hour opposite Kaye Ballard, who played his wife. Paul is now a retired Human
Resource Director from St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and enjoys his volunteer
work there.
Carol Ann Erford (Emilie Ducotel) last appeared on the Village
stage in Cherchez Dave Robichaux
as Picket Pie. Always keeping busy, she has appeared in a number of shows at the
Toledo Repertoire Theatre including Cora in Mornings at Seven, Jeannette
in The Full Monty, (which is coming back by popular demand in July 2009),
and Veta Louise in Harvey. Also, Carol has been very involved with Rep
Edgy Readings both as a director and an actor for the last two years. Look for
her this year in Durang, Durang and The Vagina Monologues. Carol
Ann just finished a concert reading, along with other area actresses, of The
Ladies of Harmony benefit for “Women Blessing Women.”
Lora Pheils (Madame Parole) This is Lora’s first appearance at The
Village, yet she is no stranger to the stage. She has appeared in many community
theater performances with such troops as Oregon, Fremont, Cathedral Players, and
The Coming Attractions Players. Lora is the founder of TCAP and has produced,
directed, and starred in many productions. She has assisted with the Rossford
High School Drama department for over 18 years as a hairstylist, costumer, set
decorator and all around “drama mama”. Lora is the wife of David, and mother of
3 adult children. “I would like to thank The Village Players for this
opportunity to join your happy family.”
Ali Seibolt (Marie Louise Ducotel) is a freshman at Bowling Green
State University majoring in Musical Theatre. She hopes to pursue this as her
career. Ali was very involved in theater in her four years at Perrysburg High
School and would like to thank Perrysburg’s Rob Gentry for getting her involved
here with The Village Players. This is Ali’s first show with The Village Players
and she thanks the cast for accepting her through all her blonde moments and
sharing her love of theater. Also, big thanks to M.D.K and J., I love you!
Bill Delaney (Joseph) “I’ve been away far too long. When I saw
My Three Angels, I couldn’t resist. I’ve always liked the movie. My
experience on this stage goes back to 1980. Also on stage at the Rep, Miss
Rose’s and the Toledo Opera (No I couldn’t sing). My favorite role at The
Village was in Rumors. I was ‘Art’ at the
Rep and Miss Rose’s. One of my roles was with Jim Rudes in The Sunshine Boys;
a great privilege and honor in my acting adventure. I want to dedicate this
performance to my wife with love and thanks for reviewing lines with me. Also to
a friend who would have enjoyed this play - Mr. Richard Kraemer.”
Joel Spieser (Jules) My Three Angels marks Joel’s third
production at The Village Players, appearing previously in
Barefoot in the Park and as Foxwell
J. Sly in Sly Fox. He also portrayed Mr.
Cunningham in last season’s production of To Kill A Mockingbird at the
Toledo Rep. “My Three Angels is a great play to do,” he says, “because of the
terrific and talented cast members I have to work with. And Jules is just a fun
character to play!” He hopes all of you enjoy watching the play as much as he
enjoys being a part of it.
Matt Black (Alfred) This is Matt’s third show at The Village. He
has previously played the role of Robert in
Don’t Dress for Dinner and
Paul Bratter in Barefoot in the Park
back in 2006. He has starred in numerous other local theatre productions,
including Heaven Can Wait, Cat’s Cradle, and Harvey. Matt
is the production manager at 13abc and is allowed to also pursue his creative
desires at work. He has also lent his face and voice to numerous television
campaigns. Matt has been married for 18 years to his lovely wife Becky, and
together they have one daughter, Nadine, who is 17. He is honored to be a part
of The Village Players and hopes to continue to be involved in this wonderful
Toledo tradition.
Douglas M. Roy (Henri Trochard) Doug has been a member of the
Toledo area acting family for over 30 years. His roles have changed to
correspond with his size (if not talent) from Bob Crachet in A Christmas
Carol and Orrin in The Little Shop of Horrors, to Stanley in A
Streetcar Names Desire, to Big Jule in Guys and Dolls and, to the
culmination of large roles, as Santa at the Valentine Theatre. You may recognize
his voice from WGTE productions for the Connecting Point & Adopt America as well
as various local and national TV and radio commercials. He is pleased to return
to The Village after many years with this delightful ménage.
Max Devolder (Paul) This is Max’s first performance with The
Village. A recent graduate of Perrysburg High School, he has played the roles of
Zangler in Crazy for You, The Wolf in Once Upon a Wolf, Tito in
Lend Me a Tenor, Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof, Doctor in Of
Widows and Vegetables, Froggy in The Foreigner, Ben in The Secret
Garden, Slim in Oklahoma, Bruce in To Absent Friends, and Orin
in Little Shop of Horrors. Max is happy for the opportunity to work with
this new exciting group of people.
Shane Strausbaugh (Lieutenant) is a freshman at The University of
Toledo majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technologies. Although this is his
first play with The Village Players, he was involved in his High School plays
his senior year. He played Stanley Jerome in Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach
Memoirs, and Sammy Johnstone in Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers
presented by Rossford High School. He was also in a commercial for the Toledo
Blade in the summer. Last year, Shane was crowned Mr. RHS in Rossford High
School’s first ever Mangeant (Male Pageant). Shane helps coach the Rossford High
School football team, and he also enjoys hanging out with his friends. He really
enjoys theater and is glad to get a chance to continue something he loves.
