The Director

John Henry (Director) As I enter my 38th year as a member of the Village, I would like to thank the theater for giving me the opportunity to count so many kind and talented people as friends. I enjoy directing and some acting (if the part isn't too large) but more than that, I love being a part of this thing we call community theater. Thank you all.

The Cast

Alicia M. Smith (Grace Kimbrough) Growing up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Alicia was heavily involved in musical theater, first with Young People's Theater and later with Ann Arbor Civic Theater. Some of her favorite productions include Bye Bye Birdie (Helen, AACT), Big River (Ensemble AACT), and Pirates of Penzance (Ruth, YPT).  This is Alicia's first show in 9 years! She is happy to return to the stage in her first show with The Village Players. She would like to thank her parents for driving her to so many practices when she was younger, her roommate for running lines with her, and her fiancé for his tireless support.

Don Weber (Harry Lambert) Don is no stranger to local theatregoers. He is an award-winning actor, having performed with numerous theatre companies in the area for over 37 years. His roles have ranged from "Al Lewis" alongside Jim Rudes in The Sunshine Boys to "Snoopy" in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Most recently he had the pleasure of appearing with Pam Kelso in the warmly received Love Letters at MEL'S Dinner Theatre at the Maumee Elks Lodge.

Don has extremely fond memories of his role as "Charlie" in the Village's first production of Never Too Late back in May of 1969. At the ripe old age of 21 he had the honor of appearing with two of the finest actors ever to grace the Village stage, namely David Ward and Doris Firestone (everybody's Aunt Doris). Don recalled, "It was only my second show at the Village as an actor, but David and Doris were so giving and patient and nurturing. They taught me volumes about the art of acting in our short rehearsal schedule … lessons I still practice to this day. I've thought of them both a lot in the past few weeks. I miss them dearly and our stage as been a little dimmer since their passing. I would like to dedicate my performance to the memory of David and Doris."

As always, Don thanks his wonderful wife Kathie & daughter Ellison for tolerating and supporting his theatrical pursuits.

Lynnie Heinemann (Edith Lambert) Lynnie has been enjoying acting in local community theatres for almost ten years. By profession she is a Recreational Therapist and a Body Recall Instructor. "Besides being a great hobby, I have always considered acting my personal therapy. I am thankful The Village has given me so many opportunities." Lynnie's last show at The Village was Wally's Cafe which was chosen to go to OCTA last spring. Recently she played four roles in the inaugural show, Later Life, at the Maumee Elk's new dinner theater, Mel's. "I'm looking forward to making new friends with this cast and laughing with John and Don again."

Ernie Brown (Dr. James Kimbrough) A librarian at Toledo's main library, Ernie is performing for the first time at The Village. His name is familiar to theater-goers as he and his wife, Jean, often work props for us. Ernie has acted over the years in Mousetrap, Odd Couple: Female Version, Blithe Spirit, I'll Be Back Before Midnight, UTBU, and Twelve Angry Men. Ernie enjoys the teamwork and camaraderie of community theater.

Adam Duckworth (Charlie) Adam is a UT graduate in communication and education. He is the director of Kid's Street at Crossroads Community Church in Ottawa Lake, MI. While working, he writes and directs children's dramas and productions. This is Adam's first show at The Village. His goal in life is to be killed by Jack Bauer on the hit show "24." He is an avid fan of Wicked, having seen it five times. "I love you, Kate."
