The Director

Julie Zatko (Director) has a BA in theater from UT and has done shows in the area with The Village, Rep and UT. She was last seen in Tony and Tina's Wedding and has designed lights for several shows at The Village. She would like to thank The Village for this wonderful opportunity and for being her theater family. "I would like to dedicate this show to my grandparents Buba and Papa Bauer-I could not have turned out better without your guidance, love and support. Thank you for teaching me the meaning of 'Tengo Familia' I love you."

The Cast

Jason Dennison (Nick) moved to Toledo two years ago from Michigan and is a guest team leader at Target. He has appeared in big…The Musical, A Few Good Men, Chicago, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Greater Tuna, Father of the Bride, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Jeffery and Postmortem. He recently learned to walk on stilts for The Dinosaur Play. In his spare time he taught himself to play the piano and enjoys crocheting, building models and painting crafts.

Stephan Gabalac (Nuncio) has appeared in The Bald Soprano, Saved, and Barefoot in the Park". Before he retired he was a prosecuting attorney in Summit County and a trial lawyer for Cubbon and Assoc. Now he has more time for his hobbies of sailing, racquetball, scuba diving, gardening and photography. Stephan has been married to Nan for 43 years, has 2 children, 2 grandchildren, 2 cats and a basset hound named Sophia.

Steve Horowitz (Frank) has appeared in The Sunshine Boys, A Little Night Music, Arsenic and Old Lace, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat , Guys and Dolls, Hound of Baskervilles, Mixed Doubles and Night Watch. His hobbies are singing, calligraphy, photography, travel and collecting teapots that don't look like teapots. He works as an Associate Professor of Health Promotion at BGSU. Steve is thrilled to be back at The Village with such a talented cast. He wants to thank Dale for all his love and support.

Patricia Rudes (Emma) is a veteran actress to our stage and many others in the Toledo area. Some of her favorite roles were in And a Nightingale Sang, A Trip to Bountiful, On Golden Pond, Steel Magnolias, The Little Foxes, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Death of a Salesman. She has won awards for acting at B.G.S.U. and Maumee Civic Theatre. When she isn't rehearsing or performing Pat teaches piano and enjoys reading and collecting old paperback books and magazines. Pat's husband of fifty years is also an actor and was just seen in The Sunshine Boys at our theater. 

Sybil Small (Aida) has been involved in theater since childhood. She has appeared in Philadelphia with Neighborhood Players, off-Broadway in NYC, radio (remember that!), in Lorain, Oh, and since 1966 with the Rep and Village. She last appeared at The Village as a thirty-something pregnant writer in Laughter on the 23rd Floor and now has a 29 year old grandson - ah, the magic of the theater!!!. Sybil is an English professor at UT and makes a great low-cal tiramisu.

Rachel Wengrow (Catlin) has appeared in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Twelfth Night, Our Town, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. She recently graduated from Ohio State University and is a Buckeye fan for life! She works as a media coordinator for Fruchtman Marketing. Rachel wishes to give special thanks to her family, friends and colleagues for their support.
