The Directors

Wes Skinner (Director): Wes has been actively involved with dance and musical theatre for the last 30 years. He received his BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Music with a Major in Dance and a Minor in Musical Theatre. Upon graduation, he spent several years in New York and the East coast performing in Broadway shows such as West Side Story and Camelot. Wes and his long-time companion, Gracie, have been in Toledo for 20 years where both have been involved with community theatre. Most recently, Wes has choreographed our production of Cabaret, directed 70, Girls, 70 and A Little Night Music. When not working on a production or remodeling an old house, Wes does package design for the corrugated industry.

Debbie Wlodarski (Musical Director): The Village Players, The Bedford Community Players and The Monroe Community Players have all come to appreciate and rely on Debbie's talent. She has been our musical director for 70, Girls, 70, Dames at Sea, Angry Housewives, and A Little Night Music. She balances this on top of her sales position with Erie Tool and Supply, Choir pianist at Bedford High School, Organist for Hope Lutheran Church (in B.G.) and teaching piano lessons. Welcome back and thanks again for everything.

The Cast

Peter Mackey (Leonato):  Mr. Mackey debuts with The Village Players in this production, having worked on just about every other stage in the area since moving to the region in 1993.  Since last fall he has appeared in Murder by Misadventure, Art, Bus Stop, Pools Paradise, and, most recently, Gross Indecency.  As always, this is for Dia, his most special Angel.

Megan Ray (Cindy): Megan is 19 years old and a 2001 graduated of Whitmer High School. She is currently working in the bakery at The Anderson's. Megan has just signed a contract with a talent agency in Cincinnati, and hopes to pursue her dream of performing on Broadway. "I want to thank my family and friends for all their support, especially my parents, because with all of them telling me, 'Shut up, Megan!' I know they really love that I love what I'm doing." You might recognize Megan from the Village's production of A Little Night Music, which was her first show here. Her other theatrical credits include Pie Woman/Caroler (Twas the Night Before Christmas), Marty (Grease), Aunt Em (The Wiz), Lady Larken (Once Upon a Mattress), The Angel Choir (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever), and the daughter (A Peanut Butter Christmas). She loves singing, acting, dancing, playing volleyball, and watching hockey. "I can't skate to save my life." She also has sung the Canadian and American National Anthems at both the Toledo and Junior "A" Toledo Storm Games. "I would also like to thank God for the gift of song, because with him, all things are possible, and I know I can make it." To the cast and crew of Suds, "Break a leg, but don't get stuck in the washer!"

Karla Behrman (Marge): Karla is thoroughly enjoying her role as Marge. Other favorite roles include Dolly Levi from "Hello Dolly", Joanna from "Godspell", and Sister Hubert from "Nunsense". She also enjoyed singing the wonderful music of Kander and Ebb in the musical review "The World Goes Round". The special people in her life include her husband Tracy Behrman, who is a published composer and the Band Director in Wauseon, son Adam, who is a junior at Ohio State majoring in Atmospheric Sciences and daughter Amy, who is starting her freshman year at California State at Long Beach, majoring in Theatre Arts. Karla is the Station Manager at INTV, the local access television station for Wauseon and several other communities in Northwest Ohio. She would like to thank Wes, Deb and her cast members for making this such a fun experience.

Liz Baldwin (Dee Dee): This is her stage debut at the Village Players. She is definitely excited to be here. Liz is not a stranger to the stage scene and has been acting, singing and dancing since she was a small child. She has performed in such roles as Jan (Grease), Sister Mary Leo (Nunsense), Meg Boyd (Damn Yankees), Miss Jones (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), Eulalie Mackechie Shinn (The Music Man), Morgan Le Fey (Camelot), just to name a few. She has also performed with St. John's Jesuit, St. Ursula Academy, The Toledo Rep, Bowling Green State University Summer Arts Theatre, BGSU Opera Theatre, and The Toledo Opera Productions. She currently is a senior at Bowling Green State University majoring in opera performance. She has studied with various vocal coaches throughout the U.S. Liz is also a vocal instructor at both the River Raison Arts Center and Dance FX Academy of the Arts. She would like to dedicate this show to family and friends, but especially to her Mom and Dad. "Thank you so much for everything. You'll never know how much I appreciate all you do!"
P.S. A big shout out to the cast and crew of Suds-"Thank you and remember you all rock the house!!"

Jeffrey Thomas King (7 different roles): This is Jeff's first appearance at The Village Players Theatre and we're so happy he found us. A few of his performances include roles in Grease at Bedford Community Players, Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls and West Side Story. Jeff graduated from Bedford High School in 1998 and attended Monroe County Community College, majored in Communications and received an Associate Degree of Arts and an Associate Degree of Sciences. Two of his favorite things are reading the Bible and singing to people in his line at Kroger's where he is currently employed as a cashier. He also works as a custodian at First Baptist Church in Temperance. He'll soon be found at the Love N'Care Nursery School as a teaching assistant. Jeff wants to thank Korinne for exhausting herself on his behalf.
