Just when you think they couldn't possibly top themselves, Nancy Janney and Co. (aka Debbie Marinik, Joanne Toth and Judy Wiederhold) pulled off another wild and crazy Vippies Celebration. The desserts were to die for, the entertainment unequalled and the costumes, well, let's just say you had to be there. It's a night when all the backstage people take center stage.
Steve Mierzejewski was the recipient of the Most Village Player Award and the 2003 President's Award was presented to Judy Wiederhold. Both humbly accepted their awards amid the cheers and thunderous applause of their fellow techies. Other "awardees" included Bob Smith, Jack of all trades - something needs doing, he does it; Ann Veasey, Jacqueline of all trades - box office, season tickets, lobby, and house manager; Don Weber, Sound man extraordinaire - the perfect music, obscure sound effects, the man can find it and put it on tape; Kathie Weber, planned and executed a record breaking season membership drive, a marketing marvel. And the "Oh Sure" award to Paige Price, who has difficulty saying no, a malady common to most Village Players volunteers. Hurrahs to all. It was quite a night.
