Willard Misfeldt (Director) Willard, Director and Designer, has been actively involved in community theatre as a hobby since shortly after coming to B.G.S.U. in 1967 as a Professor of Art History. Currently a member of the Village Players' Board of Directors and Vice President of the Black Swamp Players in Bowling Green, he has designed sets for well over 50 theatrical productions in Ohio and his native Minnesota. An accomplished director and set designer, he has designed sets before at the Village but is making his directorial debut with Night Watch.
Nancy Wright (Elaine Wheeler) Nancy is a busy actor, director and playwright. In Ann Arbor, she recently appeared in
The Couch and Sisters Rosensweig. In Toledo, she performed in Love Letters
and directed her own play Abandoned Houses, the latter on the Village stage last season. Later this season, Nancy will direct at the Toledo Repertoire Theatre and will act in
No Exit at Ann Arbor's Performance Network. Three of her new plays are slated for production in Miami and Chicago.
Mark Tomesek (John Wheeler) Mark has been seen on all the local community theatre stages for the past 12 years. He was last seen on the Village stage in our 1994 production of
The Goodbye People. Mark recently finished the summer season at Croswell Opera House appearing in
Guys and Dolls and South Pacific. His favorite roles include: Luther Billis in
South Pacific, Fred Graham/Petruchio in Kiss Me Kate and Tommy in
Brigadoon. Mark is a Senior Account Manager for Applied Industrial Technologies.
Nancy Janney (Helga) Nancy has been associated with the Village Players for over 25 years, both on and off stage. She was recently seen as Mrs. Walworth in last season's
Speaking of Murder. Other appearances on the Village stage include: Streetcar Named
Desire, The Man Who Came to Dinner, and The Night Thoreau Spent in
Jail. This is not the first time her role called for a German accent. Nancy also portrayed Anne of Cleves, the German wife of Henry VII, in
Royal Gambit. When not at the theatre, Nancy performs her "real life" duties as Circulation Supervisor at the Sylvania Branch Library.
Dan Bailey (Vanelli) Dan is new to the Village stage. He comes from the University of Toledo theatre, having performed in their productions of
Emmanuel and Happy Hour. When not acting, he is a Service Representative at Hamilton Manufacturing. Dan is grateful for the support of his parents, Jack and Mac Bailey and his girlfriend's family, the Renn's. We're glad to have you Dan!
Richard Gray (Curtis) Richard shows up on our stage every now and then since first appearing in
The Seven Year Itch, The Desk Set, Who Was That Lady and
State of the Union. These were among the first presentations the Village Players staged in various school locations and tents in Ottawa Hills (circa 1958). He says few are still around who remember the beginning. Other theatres he has
performed in include: The Toledo Repertoire, Oregon Community Theatre and Cathedral Players.
Karen Wolf (Blanche) Karen is pleased to be on stage again in this her 43rd production. She says that each role enables her to tap into those inner reaches of her mind, her soul, and her imagination. She views this role as a challenge due to the character's varying relationships with the main character.
Jim Jeffries (Lt. Walker) Jim comes back to us this season after having appeared in last season's smash hit
Beau Jest. He has an impressive background in theatre which includes key roles in
The Taming of the Shrew (Backyard Theater) and Charley's Aunt, 84 Charing Cross
Road, Morning's at Seven and Boys From Syracuse, all at the Fort Findlay Playhouse. Welcome back Jim!
Kate Argow (Dr. Lake) Kate has been involved with academic theater, semi-professional theater and community theater. She has performed in everything from Shakespeare to Oscar Wilde to American musical comedy. Kate was last seen on the Village stage as Kitty in
Six Degrees of Separation.
Thomas R. Pellitieri (Sam) Tom first appeared on the Village stage as Lovin' Al in
Working. In addition to stage duties at the Village last season, he has done costumes and makeup for productions at Whitmer High School. He has also performed in productions at theatres in Buffalo, NY, Pittsburgh, PA and Ann Arbor, MI. A computer programmer, Tom would like to thank his wife Su for lighting up his life.
