As seems to be par for the course, dreary weather was forecast for the evening of the 19th. However, as they are want to do, the Village Players pressed on into the fray celebrating the past year's accomplishments. Nancy Pieper and her husband graciously donated their backyard to host the annual meeting/party.
Near 7:30 the meeting was called to order by Jake Gordy (AKA: El Presidenté!). He noted the strides the Village has made; the garage sale, the tree removal, the shed cleaning, community outreach and the memorial season. Then the past season was reviewed noting the qualities of the shows, their directors, their crew and their contribution to the theatre and the community at-large. The Committee heads, Season Staff and Board members were each thanked for their dedication and contributions. Two By-Law changes were proposed and ratified, preparing the theatre for another year of successful operation. Ballots were then passed out, completed and counting began.
Jake, like his predecessor, also set lofty goals for the theatre, they are as follows:
| 525 Season Subscriptions by October 1, 2001 | |
| 15 new active volunteers and production staff by June 1, 2002 | |
| 11 sold houses for 2001/02 season | |
| Balanced budget by September 2001 | |
| Develop a "Grant Packet" | |
| Apply for OAC OS2 Grant in January 2002 | |
| A/C fixed by August 1, 2001 | |
| Have the 2002/2003 Season funded by June 2002 |
Next, the winners of the election were announced. VP of Development - Dale Moore, VP of Production - Scott Gage, Treasurer - Paige Price, 2-year A-Large - Tom Davis & Jean Mills, 3-year At-Large - Derek Hansen, Tom Kleinert, Wes Skinner & Ann Veasey.
Finally the awards were announced!

Unfortunately, the festivities were cut short when the sky opened up and a torrential downpour began. Village Players were seen to scatter, much like rats from a sinking ship, in all directions, arms loaded with whatever personal belongings they could carry. This also means that the few people that waited out the storm in the gazebo were the only recipients of this year's premium-item, a baseball cap with the Village Logo on the front. Don't worry, we'll track the rest of you down and make sure you get yours.
